WHO WE ARE
Our Mission
The Medical Relief Group Canada (MRGCA) is a volunteer Canadian initiative funded by the generosity of donors. This initiative seeks to provide humanitarian assistance with the aid of NGO partners through distribution of trusted medical aid to underserved hospitals and clinics of Lebanon. The medical aid is intended to be offered free of charge to end users.
Our vision
To improve the health and quality of life for the people of Lebanon by increasing their access to high quality essential medical aid. As an organization, we aim to grow and evolve in order to meet current and future needs to support our communities in Lebanon.
How it all begaN
A pilot program was successfully completed in March 2021. This project consisted of purchasing, shipping and distributing Acetamenophin (Tylenol) and Advil to hospitals and medical clinics in the mountain area.
In addition, four boxes of assorted medication (~2,400 prescriptions) was sent to Rashaya Hospital in Lebanon. Kits were distributed through the Social Assistance Clinic at the hospital to different places and local health centres.

MRGCA has been registered with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) since 2021. We have
developed a process within Canada for sourcing hospital medical equipment, supplies, and medication by establishing direct connections with Canadian organizations, including Collaboration Santé Internationale (CSI) and Health Partners International of Canada (HPIC). Through these partnerships, we have built strong relationships founded on trust and mutual respect.
In LEBANON
We have compiled a comprehensive contact list of hospitals and local clinics, identified their immediate and critical needs, and established a group of local volunteers to assist with distribution and oversight. Additionally, we have learned how to obtain the necessary permits from the Lebanese Ministry of Health for importing medical shipments into Lebanon and clearing them through customs.
